Managing Consultant
Barka Sajou is a seasoned infrastructure and investment professional with 15 years of experience in strategic energy sector development across Africa. His expertise spans government institutions, private companies, utilities, and development finance organisations, with a proven commitment to poverty alleviation through strategic investments and innovative financing solutions.
A key highlight of Sajou’s career is raising US$750M in World Bank financing for Africa’s most extensive off-grid access investment program. He has been instrumental in transformative reforms, notably restructuring Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Fund into an Impact/Commercial Fund to enhance long-term sustainability and strategic investment potential. Barka holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Electrical Power Engineering and is pursuing an Executive MBA at INSEAD. He is a Green Finance Specialist and earned the Climate Risk, Valuation and Investing Certificate from RENAC Berlin and the CFA Institute, respectively.
